About Charles
Charles C. Mayfield holds a B.S and a M.S. in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in wood working and design from the University of North Texas.
He has taught Furniture History at The University of North Texas and Woodworking at Casper College in Wyoming.
Charles has been making custom furniture and specialty woodwork professionally since 1990.
I am passionate about woodworking, designing and creating furniture. I really enjoy meeting with clients, working to understand their wants and needs, discussing possible options, finalizing design solutions and then bringing the design to life in the shop. I love taking something so simple and natural as wood and forming it into something that is both functional and beautiful.
When I’m not in the shop, I continue to research traditional furniture styles and construction techniques, especially those of this region of the West. I also strive to stay abreast of current furniture designs and new construction methods that are relevant to my work.
I have just opened my new shop in Bountiful Utah and I am now accepting new clients.
